February Reflection Quiestions
(2/25/2013)
1. I did a couple of paintings inspired by pictures I took from Seattle. One is a sunset and the other one is a forest. I used water colors as my materials on this project. Each of the paintings took me about a week. I also did another painting using acrylics with some words of inspriation on it.
2. I think the good/strong parts of my are the details in the trees and the details in the water. Becuase I think I took more time and used different colors in it to make them come to life.
3. I could have done a better job with the clouds and the mountains. Because the clouds in the one photo kind of blended in with the sun making it look a little sloppy. The mountains didn't have much detail or texture to them.
4. Well I was hoping I could make your feel calm by looking at my paintings. Neither of them have a direct message, but they show a calming side that I usaully don't express in my paintings.
5. I think both of my paintings show great texture, giving them more of a realistic view.
6. There's is a lot of contrast being shown in both of paintings. The warm hues of pinks and oranges against the cool hues of blues and purples for the sunset painting.
7. Be patient and be open to trying new things. Because I really enjoyed water colors and I would of never know that if I wouldn't have viered away from acrylics.
8. First I got an idea of what I wanted to paint, next I sketched it out on a paper, then I started with the sunsets and worked my way from lighter colors to darker colors, then I did the darker colors, and added more details by using less water.
9. I was just looking at my Seattle pictures on day and decided I wouldnt mind painting one of them. At first I thought I would paint them with acrylics and then I decided I would try some water colors to add varietion in my work.
10. It was a very worth while project, I had fun with it and wouldnt mind working with water colors again. I am planning on doing a drawing for my next artwork.
